What kind of futures are we creating for our world? Adbusters magazine’s recent issue, The Big Ideas of 2006, painted a collage of alternative futures for our planet. Many are bleak and some are uninhabitable. On the occasional page there is a glimmer of hope – an epiphany here, an insight there. Cooperation, creativity and courage will all be required to make sustainable futures a reality. The future of this planet will be influenced more by human choices than by any other factor.
