Maralinga – Nuclear theatre

August 31st, 2006 · No Comments

maralinga“Nuclear Test Veterans and their families have been fighting for their
lives and for their rights for 50 years. The World premiere of
Maralinga tells the stories of the men who served as ‘guinea pigs’ for
British Nuclear Testing in the 1950’s. This is a remarkable piece of
theatre made from interviews with British and Australian veterans and
their families.”

I first heard about Maralinga, through James Arvanitakis, a friend of mine who believes this play is not only important in its content, it’s also very good.

I’ll be seeing it on Saturday, so come and say hi if you’re there.

Read more about Maralinga at nucleartheatre.org, which is the site I built on a very low budget specifically for this play.
